I have learnt about catchwords. A words that appear at the bottom of a page showing the first word which is to appear at the beginning of the next page. It is to guide the binding.
برای صفحه‌بندی کلمه‌ای پایین صفحه نوشته می‌شود که تکرار اولین کلمه‌ای است که صفحه‌ی بعدی با آن شروع می‌شود.
I came across the symbol of a seal or sealion next to a column. Not sure what it means, but would like to find out.
